To become an approved and registered dietitian you will need to complete a degree or postgraduate diploma in dietics. The entry requirements for the undergraduate degree vary according to institution but it is expected that you will have 5 GCSEs (A*-C grade) and A Levels (or equivalent) with 2/3 being in a science related subject. To gain entry onto a postgraduate diploma you will need to hold a degree which relates to human physiology or biochemistry. The undergraduate degree is fours year and the postgraduate diploma is two years of studying. Both courses require practical and clinical placements.
