The role of a dietitian is often confused with the role of a Nutritionist. The difference is Dietitians translate the science of nutrition into everyday information which can be used in the healthcare setting whereas Nutritionists study nutrients in food and how they are used by the body. Dietitians undertake the practical application of nutrition with both individuals and population groups to promote the wellbeing of individuals and communities to prevent nutrition related problems.
