Course objectives:
Cure rates for cancer are increasing, especially with the advent of multimodality therapy. Despite positive trends in survivorship patients report that health services seem ill equipped to identify long term consequences of radiotherapy and provide few resources for multidisciplinary management of late effects. Survivors represent now a substantive population of cancer patients and are often managed long term in primary care as well as being monitored in oncology settings by both clinical oncologists and specialist nurses. Although late effects are reported as relatively rare, known under reporting and increasing use of multi modality therapy has increased the prevalence of late effects. This means that all healthcare professionals should be aware of radiotherapy late toxicities and be able to manage early symptoms and refer appropriately.

The meeting also aims to raise awareness of the extent and prevalence of radiotherapy late effects, identify key toxicities and assessment strategies and explore late effect management and best practice approaches to care.
